Gener8Xion Entertainment To Donate 100% of Its Proceeds from Tonight's Opening to Haiti Relief

Preacher's Kid Opens Tonight, January 29th, at Select Theaters Nationwide

Gener8Xion Entertainment To Donate 100% of Its Share of Opening Night Film Receipts to the Relief Efforts in Haiti

(Hollywood, CA) Preacher's Kid, Gener8Xion Entertainment's newest feature film debuts nationwide Friday, January 29th, but it might take the distributor a bit longer than normal to see any money from its release.  This is because Gener8Xion is donating 100% of the opening night net proceeds to several charities involved in the Haiti relief efforts, including Smile of a Child, Friend Ships, and Samaritan's Purse.

For Gener8xion CEO Matthew Crouch, the gesture is simply a natural outgrowth of his decades long relationship with the country.   "My family has shared a long-time love for the people of Haiti," says Crouch, who is also one of the film's producers.  "Having made numerous trips there over the years as my mother funded a hospital and supported an orphanage, it's touched our hearts to see how the world has stepped forward to give so generously to the relief efforts. We conceived this as a wonderful opportunity to keep attention focused on a tragic situation as well as give people a way to utilize something they'd ordinarily be doing - going to a movie Friday night - to be a blessing to the Haitian people.

Preacher's Kid is an inspirational film that conveys the Biblical parable of the Prodigal Son as a modern day urban musical.  The film stars platinum-selling Capitol Records artist LeToya Luckett, who plays "Angie King," a 20-something daughter of minister who, longing to experience more of life, and with dreams of fame and fortune, strikes out on her own for the very first time, joining a traveling gospel show.  She soon discovers that life on the road is tough; but even more, she fears going home with nothing to show for it, or worse, that her father may no longer love her.

Sharif Atkins ("White Collar"), producer, songwriter and recording artist Tank, Grammy-nominated R&B crooner Trey Songz, Greg Alan Williams ("Remember the Titans", "Baywatch"), Essence Atkins ("Half & Half", "Are We There Yet?"), EMI gospel artist Kierra "KiKi" Sheard, veteran actor Clifton Powell and Tammy Townsend ("Sherri") round out the cast.  The film is written and directed by Stan Foster ("Woman Thou Art Loosed") .

The film will open in over 100 theaters in 33 markets which include: Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta,Washington, DC; Philadelphia, Cleveland, Nashville, Memphis, Birmingham, AL; Jacksonville, FL; Albuquerque, NM; Canton, OH; Chattanooga, TN; Cincinnati, OH; Corpus Christi, TX; Denver, CO; Indianapolis, IN; Kansas City, MO; Miami, FL; Mobile, AL; Montgomery, AL; Oklahoma City, OK; Orlando, FL; Phoenix, AZ; Portland, OR; San Antonio, TX; Seattle, WA; Tulsa, OK; Virginia Beach, VA.

With theaters generally keeping upwards of 60% of box office revenue, Gener8Xion estimates that this will translate to approximately 1/3 of the cost of each ticket sold being sent directly to provide immediate relief to Haiti.

Preacher's Kid is a heartfelt film whose themes of family, faith and second chances echo Gener8Xion's vision to give back to the people of Haiti.  Don't miss an opportunity to no only be entertained and inspired, but to help support those who need it most.  Bring your family, friends and neighbors to theaters this Friday to see Preacher's Kid.  For more information, please visit www.preacherskidfilm.com.

  2. What an amazing blessing all the way around!!! May I remind you that you are doing "First Fruits" unto the Lord. Can you imagine what's coming your way and how God is going to bless you like never before! The word hit Laurie Crouch first to give the proceeds to Haiti people, and then her husband Matt Crouch and it all worked out where they can give and be a blessing in this desperate time of need in Haiti. God is sooooo Good! The movie is a blessing and so is the giving. Like I said, it's a blessing all the way around!!! "Hallelujah"
