Film Premiere Set for January 26 in L.A. - See List of Invited & Confirmed Celebrities

The Stan Foster-written and -directed project opens on January 29, 2010 in select theaters across the country. The premiere is next Tuesday, January 26th, at 5pm (for Red Carpet) and 7pm (for actual viewing of film) respectively, at AMC Magic Johnson Theaters 15 (located at 4020 Marlton Avenue in Los Angeles).

Preacher’s Kid stars platinum-selling Capitol Records artist, LeToya Luckett, as “Angie King,” a 20-something daughter of a minister, who, “longing to experience more of life–and with dreams of fame and fortune in her mind–she strikes out on her own for the very first time, joining a traveling gospel show. She soon discovers, though, that life on the road is tough; but even more, she fears going home with nothing to show for herself, or worse, to a father who might no longer love her.”

Written and directed by Stan Foster, whose credits include helming Bishop T.D. Jakes’ Woman, Thou Art Loosed major motion picture, Preacher’s Kid also stars current Grammy® nominee Trey Songz; R&B singer/producer Durrell “Tank” Babbs; Sharif Atkins (currently appearing in “White Collar” on the USA Network); GregAlan Williams (who played “Coach ‘Doc’ Hines” in Remember the Titans); Essence Atkins (soon to be seen in “Are We There Yet” on TBS); and Kierra “KiKi” Sheard, EMI Gospel recording artist.

Celebrities invited to the premiere include: ESPN anchor Marcellus Wiley, sports enthusiast Steven A. Smith, Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Smokey Robinson, Anthony Anderson (“Law & Order”), Denzel Washington, Dule Hill, Gabourey Sidibe, Mo'Nique, Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey, Gabrielle Union, Hill Harper (“CSI:NY”), Laurence Fishburne, MC Hammer, Regina King, Robert Townsend, Tatyana Ali, Loretta Divine, Tyler Perry, Tyrese, Yvette Nicole Brown (“Community”) and others.

Confirmed celebrities include LeToya Luckett, singer and radio personality Brian McKnight, Sharif Atkins, Tank, GregAlan Williams, Kiki Sheard, Tamala Jones (ABC’s “Castle”), James Pickens, Jr. (“Grey’s Anatomy”), and Tracey Edmonds.
